Trade Roots Employee Highlight Blog! Introducing our employees -- who they are and what they love about Trade Roots.
Hi everyone!
Today's blog is all about our team member Megan Shively! Megan has been working here at Trade Roots since March 2020.
Megan is 16 years old and is a Junior at Yorktown High School here in Arlington, Virginia. Right up the street from Trade Roots!
Megan started working here after she cheered Lisa's son on at Varsity basketball games while on the Cheer team. Megan needed a job and has family friends who are regular customers here at the store. They suggested she get in touch with Lisa as they thought she would be a perfect fit. Megan wants to go to do Nursing at Penn State.
Megan explained to me that she loves many things about the Fair Trade World but the one thing that stuck out to her the most was that the Fair Trade arrangement empowers people in places that many don't travel and brings light to unknown artists.
A fun fact about Megan is that she did rhythmic gymnastics for 10 years and has a 10-year-old Wheaten Terrier named Piper.
